Hi, my name is Jess.
I am an integrative counsellor which means I draw on a range of theories depending on your needs. Everyone is unique, with their own differing experiences, my integrative approach allows me to recognise this and tailor my counselling to suit you. I have experience in a range of areas including: anxiety, depression, self-harm, body image and lack of motivation. I have also supported students through the challenges and pressures of university.
I have a background in care work where I have supported people who experience mental and physical challenges. I have worked with a wide range of people and I have training in dementia and end of life care.
In the past, I witnessed a close friend go through mental illness and struggle to get support which inspired me to learn more about mental health and this led me to pursue a career as a counsellor. I have also reached out for counselling in the past when I was going through a difficult time. I found counselling beneficial as it gave me a different perspective on my experiences and gave me a place where I felt heard and validated which is what I hope to provide you with.
As a counsellor, I will provide you a safe space to explore and reflect on your thoughts, feelings and experiences at your own pace.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP.) This means I follow their ethical guidelines to ensure I am working safely.
I look forward to meeting you.
