Counselling is a process of helping someone address their problems in a positive way to help them clarify issues and develop strategies to help in the future. A counsellor is trained to talk someone through an issue and focus on what really matters.
Our initial consultation costs £50. Subsequent individual sessions are £60 each. Young person counselling is also £60, while relationship and family counselling sessions are £80 each. We offer discounts for armed forces, emergency services personnel, NHS staff, university staff, and students.

Each counselling session at Horizon Counselling Services lasts between 50 and 60 minutes.
We recommend seeing your counsellor every week initially, but we will work around your availability and needs. Counselling requires consistency in order to reap the best rewards and see your progress.
We accept all forms of payment, including cash, Apple Pay, BACS, and electronic payments.
Before choosing a counsellor, find out their background and qualifications, as well as what type of therapy they practice and if they have a specialism. Ideally find a counsellor that specialises and has experience in the topic that you want to discuss in counselling. Ask about general policies and their style as well, you want to make sure you find a counsellor you are comfortable with.

In most cases, YES. Confidentiality is an important part of building a trusting relationship with your counsellor. However, there may be some situations when confidentiality can’t be kept, this could be if they are concerned that you’re at risk of harming either yourself or others. Counsellors should always tell you if they are going to involve someone else before they do it.
Yes, you can speak with your counsellor outside of your sessions. Their availability will be set by them. In case of an emergency, please call 999.

A counsellor is usually someone who treats a person short term, during which time they will address behavioural patterns. A therapist will treat someone long term in order to help them through deeper issues.
