  • Suzie is absolutely amazing at her job, she is kind and empathic and completely understanding of everything I talked to her about. She made me feel cared for and her active listening meant that she was able to unpick my thoughts and feelings and present them to me using known psychology (the worksheets were really helpful to see these things visually).
    Whilst completely professional, Suzie has a lovely friendly way about her, she is calm and softly spoken and asked me such pertinent questions at the right time and in the right way.
    This meant that I was able to work things out in my own head both during the sessions and afterwards when I had come away.

I can’t say I felt better every time I left his office right away but I can honestly say the work we done helped me through the tough times because would easily remember the work we have done and was able to deal with things in a better way.

  • I’ve suffered with depression and anxiety for years, and the doctors always suggested counselling but I just wasn’t ready. About 18 months ago I googled counselling in Plymouth and found Horizon.
    I spoke to Natasha and I instantly felt comfortable and safe opening up about things a lot quicker then I anticipated.

    Seeing Natasha has made a massive improvement in the way I think and see things, I still have quite a way to go to retrain my brain from being so negative to being more positive, also to learn to cope better during times of stress, but I will get there.

    Natasha has been amazing, and is always there for me when I need her.

  • After trying to utilise the NHS and their mental health team for counselling and experiencing delay after delay and poor levels of care I turned to private counselling for immediate care.

    I cannot recommend Mark highly enough, he helped me work through my obsessive thoughts and depression at a time when I was at my lowest. I was very sceptical that I would be able to trust anyone with my personal thoughts and emotions and more fundamentally that i would be able to see life in a positive light.

    This proved to not be the case and Mark worked to slowly build my trust over a number of sessions and helped to identify obsessive negative thoughts and allowed me to explore exactly why I felt lost and ultimately helped me develop the tools necessary to battle my depression.

    If you are worried that therapy is a dead end and have given up on seeking help, I would argue that by having an introductory session with Mark and seeking the help you need is the first step on your road to recovery and more importantly the rest of your life.

  • I had 6 sessions of counselling with Horizon counselling services and Suzie in 2019.
    I had ignored symptoms of bereavement too long and it was complicating other parts of my life severely. The location of the office suited me perfectly and the quality of counselling was very good.
