Hi, my name is Costa.

I am a former Royal Marine and ex-Police Officer. My career has included lots of work with trauma, including work with survivors of abuse. I also spent many years as a Police Hostage Negotiator helping people in a time of crisis. My work sparked an interest in Psychology and I gained a Master of Science degree in Investigative Psychology, Post Graduate Certificate in Forensic Psychology, and Post Graduate Certificate in Forensic Behavioural Assessment, before training in Counselling and Psychotherapy.

I am mindful that finding the right therapist can be quite daunting, with concerns about whether it will be difficult, embarrassing, or effective. Talking to me, in confidence, can give you the freedom to talk about things you don’t feel comfortable sharing with friends or family.

I take an integrative approach to counselling, which means I draw on techniques from various approaches rather than focus on one theory. This includes techniques from Person Centred Counselling, Transactional Analysis, Mindfulness and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This gives me the flexibility to tailor the approach to what works best for you. I also use psychoeducation to help people understand patterns of behaviour.

More important than the specific approach or techniques is the relationship between the client and the counsellor, and the ability for us to work together in partnership. My approach is safe, non-judgemental, empathetic, and confidential.

I look forward to meeting you.
